有朋友曾问我为什么取”奥风英语“这个名字。其实这是often English的汉意。我最初取的网名是oftenenglish，often为”经常“，所以这两个词放在一起是提醒自己和朋友们英语学习要”often经常“进行才行。后来中国召开奥运会，我就将often音译成”奥风“，这样既表音，同时也可看作是”奥林匹克风“的缩写，于是很为自己找到这么绝妙的搭配得意了一番，呵呵。从此以后，网上就到处都有了”奥风英语“的名字。相信您看了这个来由后，从此看到”奥风“就不会忘记经常学习了。英语学习离不开often，often当然更离不开大家。下面我们就言归正传吧，请继续欣赏奥风听读名著学英语--《小人物日记》第三章(2)
April 20.--Carrie reminded me that as her old school friend, Annie Fullers (now Mrs. James), and her husband had come up from Sutton for a few days, it would look kind to take them to the theatre, and would I drop a line toMr. Merton asking him for passes for four, either for the Italian Opera, Haymarket, Savoy, or Lyceum. I wrote Merton to that effect.
4月20日 卡丽提醒我因为她的老校友，安妮·福勒斯（现在是詹姆斯夫人）和她的丈夫要来萨顿呆几天，带他们去剧院看起来是个不错的选择，问我是不是给默顿先生写封信要四剧票，意大利歌剧院、黑马克、萨沃伊或莱希姆，哪个剧院都行。

April 21.--Got a reply from Merton, saying he was very busy, and just at present couldn't manage passes for the Italian Opera, Haymarket, Savoy, or Lyceum, but the best thing going on in London was the Brown Bushes, at the Tank Theatre, Islington, and enclosed seats for four; also bill for whisky.
4月21日 收到了默顿的回信，信上说他很忙，现在手中没有意大利歌剧院、黑马克、萨沃伊或莱希姆的门票，不过现在伦敦最好的话剧就是正在伊斯灵顿的坦克剧院上演的《棕色灌木丛》，信中附有四张剧票，还有威士忌的帐单。

April 23.--Mr. and Mrs. James (Miss Fullers that was) came to meat tea, and we left directly after for the Tank Theatre. We got a 'bus that took us to King's Cross, and then changed into one that took us to the "Angel." Mr. James each time insisted on paying for all, saying that I had paid for the tickets and that was quite enough.
4月23日今天詹姆斯先生和太太（也就是过去的福勒斯小姐）和我们共用茶点，随后我们就直接去了坦克剧院。我们先乘公交车到国王的十字站，然后换乘另一辆到天使站。詹姆斯先生坚持要支付公交费用，说我已经买了票，这就足够了。

注意：
insist 表示“要求”时，其后的that从句需用虚拟语气，即“主语+should+ do”，should可省。如：
She insisted I (should) take a taxi.她坚持要我打的。
